Superior thermal protection

Tardigrad is proud of collaboration with Wilpak Group International that gives the opportunity to broaden the variety of services and products and offer our customers innovative protective solutions.

TGWilpak

Wilpak Group International is the largest manufacturer of thermal protection products in Australasia, and globally, a leading provider of specialist Cold Chain and Controlled Room Temperature (CRT) solutions. The company provides innovative thermal protection solutions for the global pharmaceutical industry to manage risks to temperature sensitive products during transport and storage.

The leading product, InsulCap®, is a thermal blanket which can be used at any or every logistic point within the supply chain to manage thermal risks and minimise the likelihood of excursions.

Another of Wilpak key products is InsulBox®, a thermal box liner which can be custom manufactured to any required size and which is particularly effective in providing thermal protection for smaller temperature sensitive products.
Let’s improve world health together.

InsulCap®

What is InsulCap ?

InsulCap® is a thermal pallet cover manufactured and meeting US Military and MOD specifications. InsulCap® has seven-layer Insul® technology to protect against extremes in temperature and weather. InsulCap® can also be custom sized to fit your specific needs. Our product sheets contain the dimensions and specifications of InsulTechnology®.

How do InsulCap® pallet covers work?

Temperature regulation occurs through the seven layer Insul®Technology, creating the ideal environment for temperature to be controlled. Used during transportation and storage, InsulCap® allows temperature sensitive goods to withstand rapid temperature changes. This is especially useful when necessary breaks in the cold chain occur such as during loading and unloading.

InsulBox®

What is InsulBox?

InsulBox® is a custom manufactured thermal protection box liner that can manage temperature when transporting or storing small temperature-sensitive organic or pharmaceutical goods. InsulBox® box liners also protect against moisture as they provide a barrier between the outer box and the product being shipped.

InsulBox® box liners are ideal for protecting temperature-sensitive products during short haul transportation such as courier deliveries and for protecting goods prior to use or longer term storage. InsulBox® is custom sized with laser precision cutting to fit your specific needs. Our product sheets contain the dimensions and specifications of InsulTechnology®.

Insulated delivery boxes for protection.

Our Insul®Technology enables your organisation’s goods to be protected against temperature extremes, as well as unwanted moisture. Furthermore, InsulBox® is not only an effective substitute for polystyrene, it’s also better for the environment.

tech1

Developed by and exclusive to Wilpak International Group, Insul®Technology utilises seven layers of insulation to create a thermal barrier that reflects radiant heat and reduces the conduction and convection of thermal energy thereby controlling the temperature within pallets and boxes and reducing the risk of excursion in pharmaceuticals and other temperature sensitive products.

The role of a thermal barrier is to maintain the desired internal temperature range of the contained goods, while protecting the goods from the external thermal environment.
The function of a thermal barrier is to maintain a temperature profile, that is cold, hot or ambient.

The purpose of thermal barrier materials.

Thermal barrier materials perform a key function in providing a control mechanism in the management of the thermal risks to which temperature sensitive goods are exposed, during their storage and transport:

  1. Increase the reflection of unwanted radiant thermal energy passing through space.
  2. Reduce the conduction of unwanted thermal energy occurring through contact with objects/materials.
  3. Reduce the convection of unwanted thermal energy occurring through the movement of air.

InsulRecycle® Thermal Barrier

mat1

Thermal barriers of the past

  • Traditionally, a thermal barrier has been a material that can minimise heat or energy transfer, to protect temperature sensitive goods.

  • These barriers have been made from popular materials such as EPS (expanded poly styrene), which have been cheap and simple to construct.

  • The energy required to manufacture and dispose of thermal barrier materials was never really considered.

mat2

Thermal barriers of the present

  • In today’s thermal barrier market, there is focus on managing the mechanics of heat, looking more at reflection, conduction and convection risks to goods.

  • With increasing costs of resources and energy, effort has been made to establish thermal barriers that are efficient to make and easy to handle.

  • With an increased use of thermal barrier material for one-way transport globally, the cost of disposal at end-of-life and environmental impact of increasing landfill is now becoming of greater importance.

mat3

Thermal barriers of the future

  • The next generation of thermal barrier is expected to effectively manage the mechanics of heat, while being efficient to manufacture and handle.

  • It will be expected that thermal barrier materials will be made from recycled content and be recyclable itself at end-of-life, reducing environmental impact by avoiding landfill as waste.

  • InsulRecycle® from Wilpak Group International is the thermal barrier innovation of the future, being a high performing and recyclable solution that is available now.
