Developed by and exclusive to Wilpak International Group, Insul®Technology utilises seven layers of insulation to create a thermal barrier that reflects radiant heat and reduces the conduction and convection of thermal energy thereby controlling the temperature within pallets and boxes and reducing the risk of excursion in pharmaceuticals and other temperature sensitive products.
The role of a thermal barrier is to maintain the desired internal temperature range of the contained goods, while protecting the goods from the external thermal environment.
The function of a thermal barrier is to maintain a temperature profile, that is cold, hot or ambient.
The purpose of thermal barrier materials.
Thermal barrier materials perform a key function in providing a control mechanism in the management of the thermal risks to which temperature sensitive goods are exposed, during their storage and transport:
- Increase the reflection of unwanted radiant thermal energy passing through space.
- Reduce the conduction of unwanted thermal energy occurring through contact with objects/materials.
- Reduce the convection of unwanted thermal energy occurring through the movement of air.
